M = Magneto
S = Starter Solenoid
L = Lights
A = Accessory
B = Battery
G = Ground
I = Ignition
R = Regulator/Rectifier
The designated terminal connects in some manner to that component. For example, the B terminal connects in some manner to the positive battery cable.
