Watch our video on how to replace a broken shear pin on a Honda two stage snow blower.

The shear pins are designed to break when the auger shaft is over-torqued, so the gear case won’t be damaged if you get something stuck in the augers.

Step 1:

Remove ignition key

Step 2:

Align holes on auger shaft and gear shaft

Step 3:

Insert the pin

Step 4:

Install the washer and pin clip

Jack’s Safety Tips: Before servicing or repairing any power equipment, disconnect the spark plug and battery cables. Remember to wear appropriate safety glasses and gloves to protect against harmful chemicals and debris. View our Disclaimer.
