Replacing the Skid Shoes on a Simplicity Two Stage Snow Blower

The skid shoes slide along the ground to protect the sides of the auger housing from damage. They also allow you to adjust the clearance between the scraper blade and the ground.

Step 1:

Remove the ignition key

Step 2:

Lift the auger housing and support it with a block of wood

Step 3:

Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts holding the skid shoes to the housing

Step 4:

Re-insert the bolts into the auger housing and skid shoe

Step 5:

Before fully tightening the bolts, adjust the skid shoe to your desired height, and tighten the bolts
