Watch our video on how to replace the skid shoes on an Ariens two stage snow blower.
The skid shoes slide along the ground to protect the sides of the auger housing from damage. They also allow you to adjust the clearance between the scraper blade and the ground.
Remove the ignition key
Tilt the blower back so it’s resting on it’s handles
Remove the bolts holding the scraper blade to auger housing
Remove the bottom bolts on the skid shoes
Slide new scraper blade onto auger housing over the holes
Re-install the bolts into the scraper bar
