Is it time for your Generac Pressure Washer to have an oil change?
Oil changes and regular tune-ups help to keep your pressure washer running smoothly.
It is recommended to change the oil in your pressure washer after the first 5 hours of use. Then, after the initial oil change, every 20 hours of use or at the beginning of every season is recommended.
Refer to your owner's manual for your models specific oil change schedule, oil brand recommendation(SAE 30), and the specific tools needed for your pressure washer.
*Before servicing your pressure washer make sure it's turned off and the spark plug is disconnected to reduce the risk of accidental start up.
Starting your pressure washer for a few minutes before the oil change will warm the oil and allow it to drain easier. After the oil is warmed, turn the engine off and allow it to cool before servicing your generator.
Place an oil drain pan under your generator to catch the oil when drained.
Use your socket wrench to loosen the drain plug and drain the oil from the engine.
Place a funnel in your oil fill tube and fill with the oil brand and amount recommended by your owner's manual.
Wipe up any access oil and screw the oil dipstick back into the oil fill tube.
Start your pressure washer engine for a few minutes, and check for any leaks.
Regular oil changes can prolong the life of your pressure washer and keep it running smoothly. Keep up with regular tune-ups so your pressure washer is ready the next time you need something cleaned!
Check your oil before and after every use by removing the dipstick and taking quick look. Put in more oil if needed.
