How to Change the Oil in a Simplicity Broadmoor Tractor
Changing the oil in your lawn mower engine is very important!
Running a machine with too little oil can severely damage the engine, resulting in an expensive repair.
Luckily, changing the oil is cheap and easy!
Here is how to do it!
What you will need:
- Simplicity Broadmoor Lawn Tractor
- Fresh Oil (See owner’s manual for recommended oil)
- New Oil Filter
Run the engine until it is warm, about 5-10 minutes.
Park the tractor on a level surface.
Stop the engine and remove starter insert.
Clean the oil fill and filter areas of any dirt or debris.
Remove the dipstick and lay it on a clean cloth.
Disconnect the oil drain hose from where it clipped up on the side of the engine.
Carefully remove the cap and lower hose into a container.
After the oil has drained, install the cap tightly and re-attach the hose to the side of the engine.
Remove the oil filter and dispose of it properly.
Lightly lubricate the gasket of the new oil filter with fresh clean oil.
Install the oil filter by hand until the gasket contacts the oil filter adapter.
Tighten the oil filter ½ to ¾ additional turns.
Add oil slowly, let sit for a minute and re-insert the dipstick to see if the level is at the full indicator.
Be sure that you check your owner’s manual for information about what oil to use and how often you should change your oil. It is very important for the health of your mower that you keep up wiht the recommended oil changes!
