How to Change the Spark Plug on a Honda FG 110 Mini Tiller

Replacing the spark plugs in your tiller is a great way to fix engine problems, sometimes, a bad spark plug is all it is!

Just in case you don’t know how to do this, here are some steps to help you change the spark plugs

What you will need:

  • Honda FG 110 Mini Tiller
  • 4mm Allen Wrench
  • Gap Gauge
  • New Spark Plug

Step 1:

Remove the fan cover.

Step 2:

Disconnect the spark plug wire.

Step 3:

Use spark plug wrench to remove spark plug, you can loosen it with the wrench and then use your fingers to finish unscrewing it.

Step 4:

Check the gap of the new spark plug, for this model it should be .6-.7 mm.

Step 5:

Install the new spark plug by hand until it threads.

Step 6:

After it seats, use the spark plug wrench to tighten about one ½ turn.

Step 7:

Reconnect the spark plug wire.

Step 8:

Reinstall the fan cover.


Be sure to check your owner’s manual for what type of spark plug you need and the specific information and maintenance schedule for your tiller!
