How to Check the Transmission Grease in a Mantis Deluxe Tiller

Did you know you should check your tiller’s transmission grease level after every 10 hours of use?

If you have no idea where transmission grease is located  or how to fill it up, or maybe if you even just want to be sure you are doing it right, here’s how!

What You Will Need:

  • Mantis Deluxe Tiller
  • Lithium Zero Grease

Step 1:

Remove Tines

Step 2:

Remove the transmission plate and gasket to see if the grease level reaches the grease flange

Step 3:

If it does not you will need to add lithium zero grease-Do not over fill!!

Step 4:

Wipe off any excess grease

Step 5:

Replace the transmission gasket and plate

Step 6:

Replace tines

Check your owner’s manual for exact information about changing the transmission grease, such as a maintenance schedule!

****Overfilling can lead to excess grease pressure which can cause seals to fail and the clutch to slip!!
