While performing maintenance, I discovered that the throttle cable of my Ryobi CS30 (#RY30002A; walbro carb)was literally hanging by a thread.. Ordered the only part that was listed (and elsewhere on the Web, too, with the same item #.
However, unfortunately, it didn't fit. The cable is the right length, but the cable sleeve/sheath is too short and ends in a clip that my engine has nowhere to mount (and make the cable go straight). So I had to take off the clip (cut with a dremel), splice in about 2 1/2 inch of the old cable sleeve/sheath, and put a hard 'sleeve' around the spot where the 2 cable sleeves connected to keep it straight. Took several hours to design/create without damaging anything. Together with a new air filter and fuel lines, it's now running better than it ever did. What could have been 1/2 hr job took almost 1/2 day to 'MacGyver' together. Took off 1 Star for the effort..
