Why do some of these have holes and some do not? Mine has a hole, but gas leaked out of it recently, can you explain why this might have happened and what can be done to prevent it? My mower is not operating as a result! Thank you

The hole allows air to fill the primer bulb again after being pushed. If the carburetor needle and seat valve got stuck in the open position, fuel could leak back down into the primer bulb.
