This solid state ignition is great. It sends power to your spark plug causing internal combustion. Simple right? I did everything but this to get the riding mower to start. New plug, clean air filter, fuel was never an issue, starter was cranking. I even put a bolt in the plug wire and held it to the chassis. This was the thing that threw me a curve. I saw spark from the bolt and assumed that there must be voltage. It was but only after it warmed up by cranking. It turned out that the solid state was working on its last leg. I took the top off of the engine and expected to find a break in the wire. Nope. The solid state module was wearing down and needed replacement. Put this on and make sure you put the right gap from the magnets and it starts all the time, just like new. My idea I'm getting across is, don't assume it is good. Open the hood and take a look
part worked ok
