The XT1 and XT2 tractor's deck wash system should be utilized after every mow. A clean deck will allow all of its parts to function properly and optimally. If your deck is clogged and covered with clumps of grass or dirt, damage can be caused.
Be careful around your equipment while the deck and blades are in motion.
- Step 1: Park your tractor in a clear and level area that is close to a garden hose.
- Step 2: Disengage the PTO.
- Step 3: Set the parking brake.
- Step 4: Stop the engine.
- Step 5: Attach the hose coupler included with your tractor to the end of your garden hose.
- Step 6: Attach the hose to the water port on the surface of your deck.
- Step 7: Turn the water on.
- Step 8: Sit on the tractor and start the engine.
- Step 9: Set the throttle to the fast (rabbit) position.
- Step 10: Engage the PTO.
- Step 11: Sit in the operator’s seat with the deck engaged for at least two minutes. This will allow the deck to be thoroughly rinsed.
- Step 12: Disengage the PTO.
- Step 13: Stop the engine.
- Step 14: Turn the water off.
- Step 15: Detach the hose from the water port on the deck.
- Step 16: Sit on the tractor and engage the PTO. Run the cutting deck for at least two minutes to allow the cutting deck to dry.
