How to Adjust the Drive Control for an Ariens Razor Walk-Behind Lawn Mower
The following instructions are for the Ariens Razor Walk-Behind Lawn Mower, which is for the model number 911175. Before attempting to work on/with your equipment in any way, always refer to your owner’s manual for safety information.
- Notice: Before adjusting the wheel drive cable, first make sure the area around the drive components is free of dirt or debris that could prevent the transmission from engaging or disengaging properly, then make sure the return spring is connected properly to the transmission bracket.
- Important: DO NOT adjust the cable so the transmission does not return to neutral and stop the unit when the wheel drive control is released.
Check The Adjustment
- Start the engine and slowly squeeze the wheel drive control against the handlebar and then release the wheel drive control.
- The unit should move forward as you squeeze the wheel drive control against the handlebar and then release the wheel drive control.
To Adjust
- Loosen the cable nuts away from the bracket.
- Move the wheel drive cable adjuster up or down the handlebar.
- To increase the traction and speed, move the cable adjuster down the handlebar.
- To decrease the traction and speed, move the cable adjuster up the handlebar.
- Check the adjustment and alter as needed.
