How to Clean Under the Mower for a Toro SmartStow 20339 Recycler Lawn Mower
The following instructions are for the Toro SmartStow Recycler Lawn Mower, which is for model number 20339. Before attempting to work on/with your equipment in any way, always refer to your owner’s manual for safety information.
- For the best results, clean the machine soon after you have completed mowing.
- Move the machine onto a flat paved surface.
- Shut off the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop before leaving the operating position.
- Lower the machine to its lowest cutting-height setting.
- Wash out the area under the rear deflector where the clippings go from the underside of the machine to the grass bag.
- Attach a garden hose that is connected to a water supply to the washout port.
- Turn the water on.
- Start the engine and run it until there are no more clippings that come out from under the machine.
- Shut off the engine.
- Shut off the water and disconnect the garden hose from the machine.
- Start the engine and run it for a few minutes to dry the underside of the machine to prevent it from rusting.
- Shut off the engine and allow it to cool before storing the machine in an enclosed area.
