How to Remove a Mower Deck for an Ariens IKON X
The following instructions are for the Ariens IKON X, which are for the IKON X 42 #915175, and IKON X 52 #915177 mower models. Before attempting to work on/with your equipment in any way, always refer to your owner’s manual for safety information.
- Set the deck to the lowest cutting height.
- Position supports, such as wood blocks, under the mower deck.
- Remove the three self-tapping screws from the left belt cover and remove the belt cover. Retain all parts for reinstallation.
- Disconnect the idler spring from the spring bracket to release belt tension.
- Remove the deck drive belt form the rear drive pulley.
- Remove one hairpin from the drag link to disconnect the drag link from the mower deck bracket. Retain all parts for reinstallation.
- Repeat step 6 on the other side.
- Remove one flange nut, one hex bolt, one flat steel washer and two sleeve bushings from the deck lift lever. Retain hardware.
- Repeat step 8 for the three remaining deck lift levers.
- Move the deck from under the unit.
