How to Clean the Deck of a Toro Recycler Self-Propelled Mower
After mowing, little blades of grass can clump up underneath of your mower deck!
Did you know this can compromise how well your lawn is being cut?
It is very important to wash your mower deck after every use, and here is how!
What you will need:
- Toro Walk Behind Mower
- Hose
Cleaning deck without a washout port:
Step 1:
Park mower on a flat surface, leave engine running.
Step 2:
Spray a stream of water in front of the right rear wheel.
Step 3:
The water will splash up into the blade and will remove the grass clippings that are up inside the mower.
Step 4:
When clippings stop falling out of the mower move it to a dry area.
Step 5:
Leave the engine running for a few minutes to dry out the mower housing to prevent it from rusting.
Cleaning deck with a washout port:
Step 1:
Lower the mower to its lowest cutting height setting.
Step 2:
Move the mower to a level paved surface.
Step 3:
Connect a water hose to the washout port on the mower.
Step 4:
Turn on the water to the hose.
Step 5:
Turn on the engine and run it until clippings stop falling out from under the mower.
Step 6:
Turn off the engine.
Step 7:
Shut off the water supply.
Step 8:
Disconnect the hose.
Step 9:
Turn the engine back on and run it for a few minutes to dry the mower housing and prevent rust.
